ROAD CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION FOR
WEEK BEGINNING
Dec. 9, 2013
Expect delays, nighttime lane closures and periodic lane shifts
for a 10 mile work zone to widen Interstate 20 from Interstate 77 (MM 74.7)
past Spears Creek Church Road (MM 84.6) in Richland County. Completion is
anticipated summer 2014.
Expect minor delays, flagging operations and possible nighttime
detours on Alpine Road (under I-20) between Faraway Drive and Polo Road in
Richland County while ramp intersections are being improved and I-20 bridges
are being widened / reconstructed. Completion is anticipated summer 2014.
Westbound traffic on I-20 between Spears Creek Church Road and
I-77 is shifted and will continue for approximately for 3 to 4 months.
This shift will split the westbound motorists into two separate lanes of
traffic bordered by concrete barriers. The right lane will travel
adjacent to the westbound lanes and will be able to access all existing exits.
The left lane will travel adjacent to the eastbound lanes and will bypass the
Spears Creek Church Road and Clemson Road exits, but will have access to the
Alpine Road and I-77 exits.
Expect nighttime lane closures on I-26 from the I-77 interchange
(mile marker 115) to S-6/Caw Caw Road. (mile marker 136) in both the eastbound
and westbound directions. Nightly lane closures will continue through
July 2015.
Expect sporadic delays to complete the work on US-1
(Gervais/Millwood/Two Notch) from the Congaree River to ½ mile past
Beltline Road. The anticipated completion date is January 2014.
Expect possible lane closures on Assembly St. (S-48) from
Pendleton St. (S-174) to Blossom St. (US 21/76) in Richland County for sidewalk
and ADA ramp reconstruction, traffic signal installation, and milling and
paving operations. Please note: NO LEFT TURN onto Greene St. from Assembly St.
heading Northbound or Southbound. Anticipated completion date is Dec. 20, 2013.
Expect lane closures and flagging operations on Hope Ferry Road in
Lexington between US-378 and Midway Road for a bridge replacement over 14 Mile
Branch Creek. Construction is expected to be complete May 2014.
Expect lane closures and flagging operations on US 378 in
Lexington between George Street and West Butler Street for widening and
intersection improvements. Flagging operations and lane closures will
also impact West Butler Street, Reed Avenue, Old Chapin Road, US-1, and Park
Road in this vicinity. Construction is expected to be complete April
2014.
Beginning Oct. 21, 2013, Derrick Hollow Road between DevilŐs Backbone
Road and Derrick Park Road will be closed to through traffic for phase two
(final) of the bridge replacement over Hollow Creek. The detour route will be DevilŐs Backbone Road, Dog Leg
Road, Ridge Road and Derrick Park Road.
Signs will be posted marking this route. The road is expected to re-open to through traffic Jan. 10,
2014. This site is located
approximately four miles northeast of Town of Batesburg-Leesville.
Expect minor delays and flagging operations on Broad River Road
from Greystone Boulevard to Lucious Road in Richland County for the replacement
of the bridge over the Broad River. This project will require reducing
traffic to one lane in each direction. The expected completion date for
the project is the summer of 2014.
Expect minor delays for road widening construction on Platt
Springs Road (SC 602) taking place between S-168 and Old Orangeburg Road.
Expected completion date is Dec. 20, 2013.
