SCDOT home         I-26 MANAGED LANES SURVEY

Thank you for agreeing to participate in this important survey.  SCDOT will use your input to help analyze the I-26 corridor for possible conversion of an existing general purpose lane for High-Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) or High-Occupancy Toll (HOT) use from Summerville to downtown Charleston.  Please use the following definitions of HOV/HOT lanes as a guide as you complete this survey.

¨     HOV lanes are designated for exclusive use by vehicles generally carrying 2+ passengers for all or a portion of the day at no charge.

¨     HOT lanes are separate lanes on a highway, usually separated by a barrier, designated for exclusive use by HOVs for all or a portion of the day typically at no charge.  Single-occupant vehicles are allowed at a pre-determined price.
